these are a few of my favorite things
The meticulous and completely handmade jewelry pieces by polymer clay artist Cindy of ANDSEE capture the special memories, favorite travels or movies and unique passions of her customers.
Born and raised in Indonesia, Cindy attended university in Seattle, WA and New York City, where she was exposed to craft artists and handmade goods (and authentic New York bagels!)
After finishing her studies in the states where she earned degrees in Marketing and Design, Cindy returned to Indonesia curious about her next move. While browsing on social media, she discovered polymer clay and immediately she was intrigued by its similar texture to pottery. Pottery was something she always loved doing, and she considered it therapeutic for her soul. Always artistically gifted and inclined, Cindy began experimenting with lifestyle products, when one of her customers suggested that she create earrings.
Above earrings were featured in the ANDSEE travel series, the city of Hong Kong.
humble beginnings
ANDSEE’s brand recognition began on instagram, where jewelry lovers and clay enthusiasts were quickly fascinated by Cindy’s creative process and production. She decided to partner with her lifelong friend and fellow creative, Christy, who runs ANDSEE’s branding.
It’s humbling to Cindy that her fan base is so engaged with her work. Creating earrings from her travel bucket list, past travel moments, favorite games and movies aids Cindy in reminiscing and reconnecting with her life, childhood memories and joys.
“I’m happy that people love it,” she exclaims. “It’s amazing that people get into it. When I talk about it, it makes me smile a lot because it’s just very personal. It’s like my personal diary in art form.”
“My intention is to create endlessly. That will always be my mentality.” She looks forward to showcasing more of her intricate designs and endlessly innovating in the future. Eventually she hopes to incorporate her love for photography and jewelry together, dreaming of a large studio space where she can pursue all of her artistic passions.
Cindy dreams to teach and share her life experiences and skills with the world and to build up an artistic community. Her country’s affinity for designers and big brands means supporting artisans and handmade artists is outside the norm. Her dedication remains to growing the perception and acceptance of polymer clay in her beloved country, while continuing to connect with her ANDSEE clients and customers worldwide.
