found wanderer
the evolution
A lot has changed since Kacey Royer created Found Wanderer jewelry over ten years ago. Her brand name, her sales approach, her visual aesthetic and identity, and her battle with mental health and recovery from an eating disorder to name a few.
She began by selling jewelry in the back of a homemade furniture store as a junior in high school in 2010. Her original brand name, Found, was inspired by the found, natural objects used to create her jewelry. Whether it be her original hemp bracelet or feather earring style, her inspiration was raw, native and timeless.
Now she relies on instagram, pop-up shops in her hometown of York, Pennsylvania, and influencers and celebrities from the Bachelor and Hollywood entertainers to grow her business. She also discovered crystals and their conduciveness to statement jewelry pieces.
“Defining my brand has taken a while just like I have taken a while to grow into myself,” explained Kacey. The creator is candid about her struggles with mental health and disordered eating on her blog and via social media.
crystals
The most commonly used material by Found Wanderer, crystals are versatile, neutral and stunning. “I’m in awe of crystals and their beauty,” Kacey gushed. “I cannot believe they are from this earth.” Kacey uses crystals in her bracelets, necklaces, earrings and most recently, rings.
in the zone
Kacey’s creative space has ranged from her parents spare bedroom to a sandy beach in Longboat Key, Florida. But one thing is constant- she always sits on the floor- grounded and close to the earth. “It’s just what I’ve always done,” she recalls.
next up
Found Wanderer is far from it’s end state. Hence the name change by Kacey, who believes you can be “found” while still wandering. She’s always been interested in fashion, a lover of vintage finds, clothing design and bohemian styles.
“I have so many ideas,” laughs Kacey. Don’t miss one of them, follow Found Wanderer on instagram, sign up for emails and keep wandering.
